The UK Communities Conference is an annual weekend gathering which explores and celebrates intentional community in Britain. We promote collaboration between communities and seek to build a stronger communities movement. The conference brings together people who already live in intentional community alongside those who are curious or are planning to set up or join communities, as well as people with a research interest in communities.
This is an event for anyone interested in a more co-operative and sustainable way of life. Whether you’re just getting curious about living communally or have done so for years, join us at our next event, or have a look at our archive of recorded sessions.
11 - 13 July, Canon From Court, Herefordshire
This summer we will be meeting at Canon Frome Court in Herefordshire for a catered camping weekend with workshops, discussions and celebration. This well-established community is set within 40 acres of farm land and based on principles of organic food-production and self-sufficiency.
Our theme this year is Communities in a Changing World. We see intentional communities as spaces that allow us to imagine and live into different worlds, based on relationship and collective wellbeing. We want to explore how we do this within community, and also what skills and experiences we are developing that we can offer to the world around us.
Families are welcome, and a variety of activities will be available.

Call for Contributions 2025
We're looking for ideas and offers to develop a weekend of workshops and fun as part of the Communities Conference event at Canon Frome Court this summer. If you would like to offer something that ties into our theme of 'Communities in a Changing World' then please let us know by reading this page and filling out the linked form by early April. We will review the offers and decide on the programme in April/May. Workshop leaders and speakers will receive a discounted ticket and meals during the event.
We are particularly interested in contributions to support groups looking to start their own communities, together with workshops on issues such as affordable housing, access to land, community resilience, local food systems and collective action on equality and ecology. We are also keen to broaden the cultural content of the conference, including the creation of a scratch band on the Saturday night of fun and creative & expressive activities, including family-friendly sessions.
